A quiet new year ...

I've been quiet for a while now. Something about Christmas and the New Year brings out the hibernator in me. Well, it could just be the cold winter weather that does that...

I know. I've not worked with you in ages...

But I've been quiet on my blog, quiet on Twitter, quiet on Pinterest, and quiet on Folksy.

I've also been quiet in my workshop, doing very little other than moving pieces of silver around, looking through bead supplies, and then wandering out again. And then I've been feeling guilty for only doing that.

Tiny things feel like huge mountains at the moment. I'm hoping it's the time of year ...

But I've also been mulling ideas over in my mind, and am hoping that I've got a plan of action brewing and building, and when I do go back to the work table (tomorrow, I hope!) I'll have a good idea of what I want to do. I've found that nothing stops productivity more than sitting around thinking "Now, what shall I do today...?" Having a plan can make all the difference. Again, I hope ...

In other news, it's snowed! I know, I know. For me and everyone else in the UK.
But, hey, it's snow and it always has the novelty factor here and, despite all the problems it brings, it's still always beautiful.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

  1. It's definitely the time of year - that's exactly what I've been doing too! We'll do better soon ;-)

  2. Aw, it's nice to know I'm not alone, even if I don't like to think of others feeling this way!

Thanks so much for the comment :)

  3. I think it's the time of year - after the Christmas rush it kind of goes about quiet and all inspiration dries up. I've had far too long away from the sewing and have just started getting back into it after Christmas.

Yay to the snow - it is very pretty isn't it! Enjoy it while it lasts :0)

  4. We've had so much snow today - so far it's fallen for 7 hours without stopping!

Yes, think you're right about the time of year - inspiration dries up! I'm pleased to say I have done some craft work today, and hoping to do a little more later :)

    Thanks for your comment :)

  5. I know just what you mean - sometimes you have to go with the flow though and watch telly if you feel like it. Or try another craft for a day, like make a birthday card or knit a chunky scarf...

  6. Ooo, that's a good idea, try something different. I do have a large ball of wool and a pattern for gloves - something that's greatly needed at the moment!
    Thank you :)

  7. So wonderful to discover your blog today, am already addicted! :) I'm glad I'm not the only one in a little bit of a creative rut but onward and upward, good luck with your future projects :) safxxx

  8. Thank you! I love your blog too. Yes, it does seem like creative slumps are everywhere at the moment - things can only improve, as you say :)

    Thanks for the comment :)

  9. I hope that as the snow melts you feel less like hibernating and more creative again. meanwhile enjoy the beauty of the snow x

  10. Thank you :) I think I'm slowly coming back to life, and am hearing more and more birdsong, even as the snow is still present...

Thanks so much for leaving a comment here - I always love to read them and I do my best to reply to them all, either here or by email.
